As Training Lead you will be supporting the Training Compliance Manager to implement NNL’s Training Policy and Procedure across all the NNL facilities and ensure compliance with regulations and legislation. You will be implementing the Systematic Approach to Training across all facilities and interfacing with Heads of Business to ensure their training needs are met. You will also be liaising with the Regulator and Auditors to demonstrate compliance with legal, regulatory and statutory requirements.

The location for this role is flexible and can be based at Workington, Sellafield or Preston.

Role Responsibility

Main Responsibilities for Training Lead:

  • Serves as a role model for safety performance and is demonstrative in setting the priority for safety in the training community.
  • Ensures compliance with all legal, regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Serves as the primary interface with Head of Business Area in ensuring training meets their needs.
  • Maintains contacts with regulators and exercises a high degree of negotiating/persuasive skills.
  • Defines the appropriate training requirements for the organisation, prioritises and ensures compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Defines the appropriate and required training needs for the organisation and ensures delivery of these needs.
  • Ensures that the training analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation is completed in accordance with procedures.
  • Ensures all training staff have adequate support and resources to deliver needs.
  • Works with Training teams and Business Area staff to resolve issues, deal with emergent training needs, establish and set priorities
  • Delivers and reports on appropriate, meaningful and visible training metrics/KPIs.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential Criteria for Training Lead:

  • Experience of:
    • managing people.
    • training techniques and models.
    • dealing with Regulators and Auditors.
    • implementing the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) using the ADDIE model.
  • Personable with good communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain SC level security clearance (this includes but is not limited to identity, employment, financial and criminal record checks plus 5 years’ worth of UK residency).

Desirable Criteria for Training Lead:

  • Skilled in the application of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Training Qualifications.
