Senior Operations Accountant

Job Introduction

As a key member of the Business Finance team, the role will directly report into the Vice President of Operations Finance providing financial support across the delivery operations, infrastructure and compliance cost centres. Key responsibilities will include providing financial expertise and guidance on reporting, risk management, business systems, business processes and internal control.

Role Responsibility

Accounting lead for Delivery Operations, Infrastructure and Compliance. Key support to Operations Director and Heads of capabilities with regular communication and attendance of team meetings. 

Work closely with Operations Director and Heads of Capability to analyse, understand and manage key cost drivers and KPI’s such as overhead costs, capital expenditure, availability and customer recovery.

Being a sounding board, trusted adviser and facilitator of productive business unit decisions supporting Operational and Commercial management

Support the ongoing forecasting and budgeting process within the company. This will include attendance of capability reviews, supporting micro level forecasting and the macro consolidation to work stream level.  

Cost control and governance – to ensure that all costs are managed and controlled in line with NNL’s internal control policies and procedures.

Responsibility for the management and development of direct reports such as Operation Accountants.

Provide timely, accurate financial analysis and management information to monitor performance and support decision making in the business area whilst also interpreting performance information for non-financial managers.

Build strong relationships with all key stakeholders including having a key role in the continued education of non-finance stakeholders 

The Ideal Candidate

Qualified Accountant, preferably CIMA but not essential

Experience of providing financial support to operational managers in a project environment

Strong communicator, able to elicit information from stakeholders at all levels.

Analytical mind with the ability to translate detailed and complex information into concise and coherent management information.

Must be diligent and use own initiative to resolve issues.

Ability to build and maintain strong relationships within the finance team and across the business.

Knowledge of major Finance ERP systems (Aggresso would be a bonus).

Strong organisational and time management skills

Good knowledge of MS Office package including Excel, Word and Powerpoint
