Integrated Planner

Job Introduction

To support the NNL MI and Integrated Planning Office, specifically with regards to the development, maintenance, and upkeep of integrated plans for NNL key operational facilities / site locations. The provision of robust and accurate management information (MI) outputs reports, dashboards and metrics. To provide views of the total business workload demand (current & future demand), resource availability (facilities, people & equipment), and resource requirements to inform strategic management decision making discussions.  

Role Responsibility

MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTABILTIES:

On behalf of the Project Management Authority (PMA) and MI Office function ensure that the Integrated Plan is updated credible and reflective of the current company position. 
Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of the functional quality and performance of the Project Management Office (PMO) Project Controls and MI Office functions. 
 

DELIVERY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  •  Using Primavera P6 the development, maintenance, and validation of facility-specific integrated ‘resource-loaded’ plans which provide an overview of current and planned future work activity at individual resource level, to inform strategic management discussions. 
  • Facilitate the integration of individual facility programmes of work into the wider Business Integrated Plan and provide output data required by key Stakeholders.  
  • Engage with Project Managers, plan owners, and key Stakeholders on a monthly basis to ensure that facility specific plans capture all resources requirements, and in line with agreed reporting milestones.
  • Provide weekly integrated plan updates to Laboratory Operations (Lab Ops) facility management representatives; coordinate communication of information and liaise with both Lab Ops Reps and Project Managers to address any anomalies and/or changes to planned resource utilisation plan data to ensure that integrated plan data is accurate and robust.   
  • Ensure all potential NNL work is captured in the top-level Business Integrated Plan, e.g. new work / opportunities, customer; internal NNL projects; maintenance, and CAPEX work, etc.
  • Develop the Business Integrated Plan to provide Building/Facility and Equipment utilisation data metrics, highlighting resource pinch points, over-allocation and/or delivery risks & business opportunities.
  • Develop and manage plans for production maintenance outages and ensure incorporation into the integrated plan.
  • Support the MI and Planning Lead on the production of regular management reports summarising business performance.
  • Ensure all business and project risks are incorporated into the Integrated Plan and engage with the NNL Risk Manager to provide impact scenario reporting.
  • Ensure the Business Integrated Plan is cost loaded and provides financial reporting.
  • Actively support the development of workflow across the business by identifying resource availability in weekly / monthly output reports to increase revenue generating opportunities. 
  • Manage engagement with Lab Ops production planners to ensure smooth incorporation into facility plans.
  • Manage the Lower Grade Integrated Planner to ensure their development and that all deliverables meet company quality standards.

The Ideal Candidate

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role.
  • Experienced in P6 Planning tool and reporting.
  • Understanding and application of planning principles and procedures across the nuclear industry
  • Proven experience of managing multiple complex workfaces and customers via an integrated plan
  • Proven experience of producing project plans for complex environments with intricate interactions
  • Proven experience of carrying out planning reviews and determine correct intelligence and logic to drive programmes of work.
  • Ability to report on conflicts and risks to delivery and advise on planning scenarios for recovery
  • Experience of populating, managing and reporting on resource requirements for programmes of work
  • Experience of managing cost and cost reporting.
  • Experience of analysing data to identify trends, and risks and reporting on mitigation scenarios.
  • Experience of producing high quality reporting in line with company deadlines.

SKILLS & BEHAVIOURS:

  • Detailed and working knowledge of  Primavera P6/Excel/MSP
  • Line Management Experience 
  • Good verbal and written communication.
  • Natural intellectual curiosity, creative in analytical approach with a good instinct for business
  • Capable of working without supervision, to provide insight and help to develop the reporting capabilities of the business.
  • Numerate, logical, organised, flexible and a creative approach to problem solving.
  • Drive, determination, confidence, enthusiasm and a willingness to propose alternatives to established approaches.
