Health Physics Team Leader
Job Introduction
The Health Physics Supervisor will manage the day to day work of the Health Physics team to meet the requirements of the B13 production plan and other routine plant operations. They will allocate resource to facility and project work as required and will ensure all team members are appropriately trained.
The post holder will also be required to be a task supervisor and be able to take the lead on key on-plant Health Physics matters.
Role Responsibility
·Schedule the day-to-day work of the Health Physics team
Supervise Health Physics Team members during general plant operations
Provide an emergency response for Health Physics matters
Provide advice to plant operators
·Perform briefing and tool-box talks or task briefs
·Produce and review Safe Systems of Work (risk assessments, working instructions etc) or elements thereof
·Monitor the training status of Health Physics Team members and arrange training when required
·Deliver training to Health Physics, Operations and Production team members as appropriate
·Manage the Health Physics Team with regard to personnel issues in support of the Operations Manager
Advise, and provide response to, the Operations Manager on any Plant Health Physics issues; including review of current working practices
The Ideal Candidate
5 years on-plant experience in a Health Physics environment
Good written and verbal communication skills
Team Leader experience either directly or as a deputy
Knowledge of Ionising Radiation Regulations 1999, Environmental Permitting Regulations (Amended) 2011 and Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
