We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Business Relationship Manager role within in our IT function. It’s offered on a permanent basis, with the flexibility of hybrid working, and an opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast paced, and evolving environment.

As a senior representative of the IT Business Engagement team, you will be accountable for establishing and maintaining strategic relationships between key business stakeholders and IT teams.  Partnering with leaders at all levels to collaborate, shape technology strategies, drive efficiencies, and ensure the effective delivery of IT services across the organisation.

You will proactively serve as a “trusted advisor” and function as a key IT point of contact for all business stakeholders, ensuring the delivery of IT Services which meet business priorities, needs and expectations.  You will represent IT by promoting our vision, value, services, and capabilities.

We are seeking candidates with exceptional communications and presentation skills, who can adapt, and self-manage to the changing needs of the business.  The nature of our business means no day will be the same.

You will ideally have previous experience working in a Business Partnering role within a nuclear, IT or regulated industry, but this is not essential.

Role Responsibility

Main responsibilities for Business Relationship Manager:

  • Establishing and maintaining strategic relationships between key business stakeholders and IT teams to ensure respective strategies remain aligned.
  • Managing business expectations and perception across all IT Services and deliverables and ensuring oversight for the resolutions of escalated IT issues.
  • Understanding and anticipating the direction of the business, identifying opportunities to make recommendations to support the desired business future state.
  • Eliciting and translating business requirements for input into solution design process and project delivery framework.
  • Driving business change by clearly articulating and defining business needs and benefits, through well-documented Business Cases.
  • Providing strategic consultation to business and IT teams and participating in quality reviews and feedback sessions.
  • Providing insight on external digital and technology trends, benchmarking, and innovation and how these can be leveraged to drive business growth and new operating models.
  • Promoting business knowledge of IT capabilities and services through appropriate communication channels.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential Criteria for Business Relationship Manager:

  • A broad knowledge of IT, ideally with a scientific / engineering background.
  • Experience building successful relationships with key internal stakeholders, including executive teams and external partners.
  • Able to work independently and effectively prioritise workload.
  • Delivery focused with strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to obtain SC level security clearance (this includes but is not limited to identity, employment, financial and criminal record checks plus 5 years’ worth of UK residency).

Desirable Criteria for Business Relationship Manager:

  • Qualified to at least degree level.
  • Practitioner and/ or Certificate in Business Relationship Management (BRMP or CBRM).
  • A proven track record in a similar role.
  • Strong project delivery skills (i.e. can demonstrate the successful delivery of projects – to time, cost, and quality).
