Assistant Accountant - 2 Year Fixed Term Position

Job Introduction

We are seeking to recruit a Assistant Accountant on a fixed term basis (2 Years). 

As a key member of the Finance team, your role will be to maintain accurate financial records in the Company ERP system including AP, AR and General Finance.

This role is a full time (39 hours per week) position however part-time applications will be considered with reduced hours over a 5 day working week. 

Role Responsibility

  • Supporting day to day transactional activities within the Corporate Finance team.  This will include responsibilities for the accurate processing of various transactions including bank, invoices, credit card and cash
  • Production of specific balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Process employee expense claims ensuring compliance with company policy
  • Administer the Company procurement credit card
  • Process monthly travel and hotel transactions
  • Process weekly timesheets and timesheet amendments

The Ideal Candidate

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Understanding of double entry book keeping
  • Must be diligent and use own initiative to resolve issues.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships within the finance team and across the business.
  • Proactive, highly motivated and enthusiastic

 

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of major Finance ERP systems (Business World would be a bonus).
  • Book keeping, commenced study of AAT Qualification
