Technology Manager

Job Introduction

The Reactor Operations Support (ROS) business area provides a vital service to operational reactors and the new build programme. As a Technology Manager in the Reactor Chemistry and Materials team, you would be joining an established team investigating, analysing and resolving interesting technical issues for a wide range of UK and foreign customers as well as National Programmes of work for UK Government. In support of NNLs mission to strengthen collaboration with academia there will be additional opportunities to engage with UK universities.
 

Role Responsibility

• Contribute to the ongoing development of NNL reactor chemistry and material capability through interaction with key stakeholders.
• Manage new potential business opportunities and identifying customer needs.
• Consult and support the management to develop new strategic business opportunities and expansion of existing business opportunities that enhance the capabilities of the team.
• Act as the point contact for business development activities.
• Manage and influence the preparation of opportunity plans, win strategies, proposals, business plans, proposal work scopes and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contracts.


 

The Ideal Candidate

Essential Skills/Qualifications
• Postgraduate degree or PhD in Chemistry, materials or corrosion or a related discipline, or relevant level of experience.
• Proven track record in applying your scientific knowledge and experience in the area nuclear sector to a range of technical issues.
• Demonstrate a successful record of developing new business with the nuclear sector.
• Must demonstrate a detailed and extensive expertise and application of business development principles and concepts, as well as strong project management and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of nuclear regulatory processes.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Membership of Professional Institution.

Desirable Skills/Qualifications
• Experience in the nuclear generation.
• Experience in bid preparation
