The role of the Learning and Development Advisor includes the creation of learning content and provision of advice and guidance to support NNL's skills and people development strategies.

Role Responsibility

Main Responsibilities for Learning and Development Advisor (FTC - 18 Months):

  • Design, develop and maintain learning content in a range of formats including e-learning, online, virtual and classroom training, working in conjunction with SMEs and manage curated learning content in order to provide a range of learning resources that are easily accessible to learners and meet their learning needs.
  • Provide L&D support and guidance in response to requests from individuals and line managers and propose appropriate learning solutions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Proactively engage, educate and support our business in identifying L&D requirements in order to raise skill levels across the business and address performance issues.
  • Manage and coordinate NNL’s Induction Programme including: face to face activities; online content; timescales; review and evaluation; to welcome new starters to NNL and to integrate them into our business.
  • Manage L&D content in SharePoint, ensuring that it remains current and reflects L&D developments and offerings, to support employees with their career and development planning.
  • Support the development and review of L&D policies and procedures; helping others interpret and apply them as appropriate to raise standards and enable compliance. 
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of standards, training and an internal accreditation process for people in the business who develop and deliver training internally and externally to ensure effectiveness, consistency and quality.
  • Comply with relevant policies and procedures and contribute to risk management, governance and assurance processes to support overall team performance in these areas.
  • Proactivity recommend and implement improvements to L&D processes and services and evaluate L&D offerings/feedback in order to contribute to the continual improvement of the function.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential Criteria for Learning and Development Advisor (FTC - 18 Months):

  • CIPD qualification or equivalent and professional membership.
  • Excellent organisational skills, ability to coordinate and manage L&D business requests.
  • Ability to prioritise urgent work requests and to work under pressure to tight timescales.
  • Great interpersonal skills; ability to work on own or as part of a team and to seek advice when required.
  • Strong attention to detail and a track record in producing high quality work. 
  • Learning content creation skills covering classroom; e-learning and online formats and working knowledge of content development software.
  • Experience of designing, managing and coordinating induction content and programmes.
  • Utilises all available resources and tools to investigate and resolve problems and ensure the most appropriate solution is identified in a safe and timely manner.
  • Strong planning, prioritizing and programme management skills.
  • Ability to report progress against KPIs/ OKRs.
  • Ability to obtain BPSS level security clearance (this includes but is not limited to identity, employment and criminal record checks).
