Job Introduction

NNL offer design apprenticeships in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical, Control and Instrumentation. You’ll be trained in all aspects of design and will follow an engineering design apprenticeship route, tailored to your design discipline.
Engineering designers need to be safety conscious and have good IT, mathematics & communication skills. You will need to have perfect colour vision and therefore must undertake a colour vision test.
This is a Degree Apprenticeship, which means NNL will pay for you to gain a Degree and we’ll pay you a salary while you’re learning.

Role Responsibility
Discover the role:
- How to work in a safe manner, you will become familiar with industry guidelines and regulations such as LOLER, PUWER and COSHH
- Produce drawings and designs using Computer Aided Design (CAD)
- Auto-CAD and additional design & prototyping programmes
- Maintenance of existing equipment and manufacture of new parts when required
- Problem solving and fault-finding
- Installation, testing and adjustment of plant and machinery to make sure it is running smoothly, safely and meeting performance targets
- Use of different tools

You’ll already have a good academic background when you apply for an apprenticeship with us. You should have attained 5 GCSE's A-C including Maths & English, and be on track to or passed A-Levels or BTEC (of which one must be Engineering). But that’s not all you’ll need.
